The three-day Annual National Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, which is full of blessings for participants, is underway at Baghe-Ahmad, Pomadze, in the Central Region. The theme is “Corruption – A Threat to National Development, Peace and Security.”
The convention began with congregational dawn prayers attended by thousands of men, women and children. It was followed by exhortation by the Ameer and a presentation on “The purpose of the Advent of Hazrat Imam Mahdi and Promised Messiah (AS)”

Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaj Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the Vice President of National House of Chiefs, Daasebre Kweku Ewusi VII will each be addressing the participants to grace the occasion on the second day. Other dignitaries will also give fraternal messages. Koforidua Zonal President Mr. Abdul Noor Wahab will deliver a speech on ‘’A religious and Stable Matrimonial Home – Examples of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw)’’
Former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama will grace the occasion on the third day. Presentation will be made on “The Need for Khilafat in Contemporary Times”. Awards will be presented to individuals who have excelled academically. The Ameer and missionary in-charge will give a closing address to bring convention to a closure.
Jalsa Salana is a special moment where participants experience a high level of spiritual upliftment. Participants listen to various speeches from missionaries, scholars and dignitaries. The convention also attracts the seat of Government, the Christian communities as well as the traditional council. Even though this is a great opportunity to meet friends and relatives, participants persevere for the true meaning of this gathering. They exhibit a high level of discipline.
