Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community have been admonished to always avail themselves to respond to the call of the Messiah and make all the sacrifices to prove the truth of their belief in Allah and His messenger.
This, according to Maulvi Hamid Tahir, Ashanti Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana would strengthen the spiritual and physical ability to serve Allah honestly.
“We must pray and strive to always be counted among those who always offered sacrifices in adversity and prosperity because we held the love of Allah and the honor of Islam close to our hearts”, he said while delivering a Dars on “Financial sacrifice, an obligation for every Ahmadi Muslim on the second day of the 90th Annual Convention of the mission at Pomadze, near Winneba.
According to him, the subject of financial sacrifice is so important that in the Holy Qur’an Allah has repeatedly drawn our attention to.
He stated that both the elements of sacrifice and the focus on giving out from one’s wealth were paramount issues of importance, as they were the key factors in the promotion of a harmonious society in which people are ever-willing to earn the pleasure of God, and are ever mindful of their duty to each other.
Maulvi Tahir entreated Ahmadis to cultivate the sacrificial spirit of Hazrat Abubakar, and of Hazrat Umar, as well as Hadhrat Sahibzada Abdul Lateef, who willingly gave up a life of ease and honor for the belief in God and the truth of the Promised Messiah(as).
He described followers of the Promised Messiah(as) as the most fortunate and privileged of people, and as such they must leverage on the unique opportunity to benefit from the noble examples of those who were taught and guided by the Prophet Muhammad(saw).
“We are blessed that from among the Jama’at, we have such noble examples that have furnished us with the spirit of sacrifice even in the latter days”, he stated and stressed that it is obligatory for every Ahmadi to follow the footsteps of the Holy Prophet(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) Peace and blessings be upon him.
He said Allah had underlined the concept of sacrifice as a basis for righteousness, stressing that one could not be an Ahmadi Muslim and still be attached to worldly riches.
The Holy Qur’an had made it clear that one’s path to progress was linked to his/her willingness to part with their wealth for the sake of Allah.
Maulvi Tahir stressed and advised Ahmadi Muslims to follow the noble example of the Holy Prophet(saw) which was brimmed with full of sacrifices as that of the lives of his holy companions which had examples that remained unmatched.
