Justice and peace: The vital pillars of national development, as highlighted by President Mahama at the 92nd Jalsa Salana.
At the 92nd Jalsa Salana, President Mahama underscored the vital role of peace and justice for the nation’s development. Two days after his swearing-in, he firmly affirmed that no Ghanaian should be denied justice. Furthermore, he pledged to ensure that justice is fair and accessible to all, aiming to restore faith in the judicial system.
He explained that in a society where there is no justice, there can be no peace. Consequently, he urged Ghanaians to recognize that justice is fundamental to national development. He further emphasized that justice should not only be delivered but must also be visible and impactful to everyone. To achieve this, President Mahama outlined that his administration would establish the Constitution Validation Conference to review Ghana’s constitution, aligning it with the nation’s needs.
Moreover, he promised to prioritize dialogue, foster consensus with religious organizations, and avoid unilateral approaches to national challenges. In line with this, he reiterated that the Ahmadiyya motto, “Love for All, Hatred for None,” truly embodies the peace and justice Ghana requires.
Additionally, President Mahama committed to collaborating with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission to revive the once-thriving Pomadze poultry farm. He believes this initiative will inspire other faith-based organizations to venture into agribusiness, thus sustaining their activities and generating job opportunities.
President Mahama also expressed profound gratitude to Hadzrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, for his prayers and guidance during his recent visit to London. He further extended his thanks to Ameer and Missionary-in-charge, Maulana Noor Mohammed Bin Salih, and the National Chief Imam for their unwavering support. Finally, the President conveyed his appreciation to all religious leaders and Ghanaians for their continued prayers and backing.
