The significance of the institution of spiritual leadership of the Islamic religion known as Khilafat manifests in God’s acceptance of Khilafa’s prayers.

This is because the Khilafah, being a successor to a prophet is blessed and honoured with the acceptance of his prayers, as was witnessed in the cases of Gods’ Prophets, according to Maulvi Naeem Cheema, Special Assistant to the Ameer and Missionary-in-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission.
He was speaking on Khilafat and its significance in contemporary human society at the 89th Annual National Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the mission at Bustan-e-Ahmad in Accra.
Maulvi Cheema said since the Ahmadiyya Khilafat is based on the precepts of prophethood as was mentioned by the Holy Prophet(saw), then the level at which Allah accepted his prayers was transferred to the Khalifa of the Promised Messiah(as) who was a devotee servant of the Prophet Muhammad(saw).
He said it was in the same vein that Allah revealed to the Promised Messiah(as) that he would accept most of his prayers and bless his successor with the acceptance of most of his prayers which is a sign of his truthfulness.

Maulvi Cheema quoted Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II (ra) as saying, “when Allah the Almighty chooses someone for the position of a Khalifa, his prayers are accepted by Allah, because if the Khalifa’s prayers are not accepted, then it is an insult to His choice”.
It was, therefore, incumbent upon Ahmadi Muslims to establish a relationship with the Khalifah of the Promised Messiah(as) and benefit from writing letters to him for prayers.
This would relieve them from their distress which increases their faith in Allah and assures them of the truthfulness of Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya, Maulvi Cheema added.
