Ameer and Missionary in-charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Ghana, Alhaj Maulana Noor Mohammad Bin Salih, has called for moral uprightness in the country to keep the nation in its peaceful state and enhance development and progress.
Speaking on the theme, “Moral Decadence and Our Responsibilities In The Light of Islamic Teachings”, Ameer explained that moral decadence signifies the deterioration of society to a level where human actions can no longer be described as thoughtful reasoning or ethical reflection. He said moral decadence is not just a social problem but a profound spiritual crisis. He observed that many human actions today are no longer guided by careful reasoning and ethical reflection, resulting in widespread injustice and disorder.
Ameer further highlighted that the contemporary Ghanaian society sees a decline in morality, which is evident in the breakdown of the Ghanaian family. The rise in selfishness, dishonesty, high levels of corruption, loss of compassion, and the growing indifference to justice are all signs of a weakening moral foundation. He believes this has daring consequences that affect families, institutions, and future generations.

He however, said moral decadence in an Islamic perspective reflects “how one is distancing himself or herself from the natural inclusion of goodness”. The Ameer stressed that Islam offers lasting solution to these challenges. He explained that the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the guidance found in the Holy Qur’an provide a complete moral framework for all times.
He advised all present to stand and fight against corruption and moral decadence to preserve our moral and religious qualities. He stated, “As a nation, we should stand in sincerity to our creator with genuine humility and repentance”.
Ameer also used the platform to remember lost souls in the previous year.
